Artist Story

Mrs. Yanping Lu is a senior artist, computer graphic designer, and art educator residing in Dublin, Ohio, USA.

 

Mrs. Lu earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, China, in 1987, and a Master of Educational Informatics (MEd) from Tohoku University, Japan, in 2005. From 1987 to 1995, she worked as a commercial art designer at the China Silk Import and Export Corporation. Between 1998 and 2000, she was a visiting scholar studying computer graphic design at Shiga University in Japan, and from 2000 to 2002, researched visual arts and design as a visiting scholar at Chiba University, Japan. From 2017 to 2021, she served as a part-time visiting professor at the School of Arts, Hubei University of Economics, and from 2018 to 2021, held a similar position at the School of Arts, Hubei Polytechnic University.

Mrs. Lu is a senior artist at Art2D3D Studio, and a member of the Ohio Arts Council and the Ohio Art League in the United States. She has participated in a number of international and domestic group and solo art exhibitions and has been a guest and judge at numerous art events and exhibitions in Ohio. Her unique oil paintings, particularly the "Dynamic Pets" series, are highly appreciated and collected by art collectors. She is currently creating a series of oil paintings titled "Charm Symbols" and planning to participate in the ArtExpo New York 2024 and other art exhibitions.

Mrs. Lu is also a principal and senior art educator at Art2D3D School in the United States. As of 2022, her students have won over 500 national and international art competition awards. These works have been exhibited multiple times in both domestic and international exhibitions. For five consecutive years, her students have been admitted to Ivy League universities in the United States with full scholarships. Many of her students have also been accepted into top 30 ranked universities in the United States. For these reasons, she was awarded the "Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award" in the state of Ohio, and was received by the Governor and his wife.
